Excellent Reasons To Spend A Few Days In London

by - 04:37

Why spend a fortune on air travel abroad when you have one of the greatest cities in the world right here
on your doorstep? Well, assuming you live in the UK, of course, and with the understanding that we don't
literally mean right outside your front door!

If you have never visited London, perhaps because your travel wishlist is comprised of places outside of
the UK, then you might want to reconsider your plans when you're next thinking about a vacation away.
There are some definite highlights, not least the fact that you don't have to travel very far to gain some
world-class experiences.

Here are some excellent reasons to spend a few days in London.

#1: London has some of the most famous sights in the world

Okay, so Paris has the Eiffel Tower, and India has the Taj Mahal. Wonderful sights both, and there are many
other sights in the world that you should try to make time for in your lifetime. However, you are unlikely to see
the Queen waving a flag from atop the Eiffel Tower, but you might just catch a glimpse of her in Buckingham
Palace (probably not waving a flag though). London also has Big Ben, the Tower of London, The Shard, and
a whole host of other sightseeing attractions. You don't even need to use your feet to see some of them, as
by sitting atop the London Eye or on the top deck of a London bus tour, you can easily get to see a lot of
what this great city has to offer.

#2: London is a foodies paradise

You don't need to travel the globe to get a taste of the best foods the world has to offer. Because London is
a multicultural city, you are spoilt for choice when it comes time to fill your hungry bellies. Do you want a
taste of India? Then go no further than The Lincoln Plaza, a fine Canary Wharf Indian restaurant. Miffed that
you didn't get to go to Paris? Fear not, as some of the best French restaurants are actually in London,
including the Petit Pois Bistro in Hackney. Have you always wondered what real sushi tastes like (away from
the confines of your local supermarket)? Then visit Chisou, an upmarket Japanese restaurant at the heart of
Mayfair. Of course, if it's pie and mash you want, or good old fish and chips, you can still get a taste of the best
of the UK at one of the many food pubs in London.

#3: The shopping is incredible

Get your credit cards at the ready, because London is the perfect place for shoppers. With Bond Street, some
of the best designer stores in the world are concentrated in one place, including Prada, Ralph Lauren, Versace,
and Donna Karan. Elsewhere in London, you owe it to yourself to visit Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges
on Oxford Street, as these are two of London's most famous, albeit expensive, flagship stores. But if you're on
a budget, fear not, as London has some of the greatest markets in the world, including those found on Brick Lane
and Petticoat Lane, so you are sure to find a bargain. For more, check out this shopping guide, and then start to
save your pennies.

And there's more!

There is more to London than food, shopping, and opportunities to glimpse Her Majesty. You should also take time
to check out a show at London's West End, explore the city's historical side with a walking tour, and get a taste
of Hollywood at the Warner Bros Studio.

London is packed with things to see and do, and while you probably won't see the Queen (sorry), you might
still see a celeb or two when you're exploring the bars and stores of the city.
